W.I.C. (Women Infants and Children Program) And Farmers Collaborate Efforts

The Women Infants and Children's (WIC) Program at the Health Department will kick off its annual Farmer's Market Nutrition Program only for active Columbus and Fort Benning WIC participants on Friday July 16, 2010. The kickoff begins at 8:00 am and will continue throughout the day on a first come, first serve basis.

The program will provide coupons to WIC participants, women and children over 6 months, to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables directly from authorized farmers markets in their community. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available for purchase with WIC coupons in the back parking lot of:

Columbus Health Department
Health and Human Service Building
2100 Comer Avenue, Columbus, GA 31904.

WIC participants must bring their WIC Card and a Picture Identification to receive Farmer's Market Coupons for free produce.
