Health Education

Health education provides information to interested persons, organizations, and
agencies. The program focuses on prevention and education on various health topics.

The health education program can provide the following assistance:

1 . Do you need printed health education information?

For individuals:

  • Limited quantities of select printed health education are available to individuals for personal use.

For health fairs:

  • For large amounts of printed health education materials please use the link below and download the
    publication resource guide for health fairs. The guide has a list of health topics with corresponding
    direct links to the publication ordering web pages of various federal agency health websites where you
    can order health education materials and have them shipped directly to you. (Please note that some
    sites may charge a fee for publications or charge shipping fees depending on what you order and how
    many)

2. Would you like a speaker to present on a health education issue?

  • The Columbus Department of Public Health can provide speakers to come to your group to talk about a wide variety of health education topics.
  • If you would like to request a speaker please either complete the ONLINESPEAKER REQUEST form
    OR DOWNLOAD A COPY OF THE REQUEST FORM, complete it and fax it to 706-321-6326 with an
    attention to Health Education on the cover sheet.
  • Please submit your speaker request 30 days prior to your event.
  • Health Department staff will send you an email to confirm that your request has been received.
  • All speaker requests will be reviewed and a response will be given within 10 business days from the
    receipt of the request.
  • Fulfillment of speaker requests will depend upon availability of staff.
  • If you have questions about requesting a speaker or the status of your request after it has been

3 . Do you need assistance with a health fair?

  • Health department staff can provide technical assistance to you as you plan your health fair.
  • The health department can also provide services at your health fair. (subject to staff availability)
  • If you would like to request assistance with a health fair please either complete our

  • Fulfillment of requests is subject to availability of staff.
  • Health Department staff will send you an email to confirm that your request has been received.
  • All speaker requests will be reviewed and a response will be given within 15 business days from the receipt of the request.
